Howdy, y'all!
Today, I'm gonna give you a sneak peek into what a typical day looks like in my neck of the woods. So saddle up and let's ride through a day in the life of yours truly, Toby Schuetgens, the man behind the music.
Now, as some of y'all might know, I ain't livin' off my tunes just yet. Nope, when I ain't strummin' my guitar, I'm slingin' horseshoes and trainin' Western horses. Makes for one heck of a varied day, let me tell ya.
So, picture this: me and my better half, we call a little ranch home. We got critters to tend to and land to work, so the day kicks off bright and early at 8:00 a.m. with a hearty breakfast. By 8:30 or 9:00, I'm hunkered down in the office or studio, takin' care of odds and ends – tweakin' ads, answerin' emails, y'know the drill.
Most days, I'll head out around 10:00 a.m. for appointments – whether it's shapin' hooves or puttin' a horse through its paces.
Come noon, it's time to rustle up some grub, and then it's back to the studio for more tinkering.
Now, here's where it gets real interesting. I'll often head out again around 3:00 p.m. for another round of horseshoein' or horse wranglin'. By the time I mosey on back home, it's usually between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
But the day ain't over yet, folks. Nope, it's back to the studio for some late-night pickin' and grinnin'. I'll spend the evening writin' songs, layin' down tracks, and gettin' those creative juices flowin'. And let me tell ya, sometimes I'm strummin' away till the cows come home around 8:00 p.m. or 9:00 p.m.
But wait, there's more! After that, it's time to tackle some graphics, jot down some blog posts, and wrangle those social media accounts. And before I know it, it's 1:00 a.m. and time to hit the hay.
Now, I ain't just sittin' around twiddlin' my thumbs in them 90-minute blocks. Nope, I've got a system – work hard for 90 minutes straight, then take a breather. Keeps the mind sharp and the ideas flowin', y'know?
And let me tell ya, this ain't just a day in the life – it's a journey. I'm workin' toward makin' music my main gig, and them horseshoes just a side hustle. It's a shift from sweat to creativity, from hoofbeats to harmonies.
But lemme tell ya, it ain't always been smooth sailin'. There were days when I was up at the crack of dawn, slingin' hay and muckin' stalls till the stars came out. And them days as a farrier? Well, let's just say, my arms got a workout.
But compared to them days, I'm livin' the high life now – free as a bird and callin' the shots. Sure, I'm still fine-tunin' that balance, but I'm gettin' there.
And what's next on the horizon, you ask? Well, I've got my sights set on the good ol' U.S. of A. – but that's a tale for another day.
So stay tuned, y'all, 'cause this journey's just gettin' started. I'll be keepin' y'all posted every step of the way, 'cause after all, we're in this together.
Catch y'all in the next post.
Toby
